.308/7.62 Nato prices gone up?
« on: November 05, 2012, 04:16:10 AM »
So I will soon own an AR 10 DPMS SASS .308/7.62

My next step is to buy 1000 rounds...Has prices on this stuff gone up?

I wanted to make sure I got this stuff on order before election day but did I miss the boat?

If the price has just spiked prior to the election I may bide my time and hope, for guns and ammo sake, that the R takes the win.

The price of all ammo has gone up, just like it did in 2008.  Fear is driving the price up.  It will come back down sometime around March or April of next year, just like it did in 2009 regardless of who gets elected.

I just bought 500 rounds of Lake City on Friday from Cheaper Than Dirt for 349.99 and that is about the price it has been all year.  I watch ammo prices pretty closely and I haven't seen any panic induced increases yet.  I just looked and the ammo I bought is only available on backorder currently.  I'd say if you buy some soon, you should beat any increases, although it doesn't seem to be as bad as in '08.  Look at and click on the ammunition link on the left side topic column.  Then scroll down the results and toward the bottom there is a link titled "cheapest 7.62 on the internet" or something like that.  It will save you a lot of searching, as the guy who updates it is really on the ball.  Hope this helps!
