International Cartridge indicated they have a good supply of
9mm and 223, but only in frangible.  However, it is still useable for
training.  223 is $0.65/round.  9mm is $0.45/round.  Call them at  814 938 6820

For a few hours yesterday, Aim Surplus had gen2 black 30rnd Pmags for only $12.99.  6K in stock, which sold out before I got a chance.
Also, many major AR manufacturers are showing in stock inventory for at least some of their uppers.

I'm still hurting for small pistol primers, and all the shops tell me some knuckle dragging sits out front all day until the delivery and then buys them up.  Wish quotas were enforced.

Today when I was purchasing my fishing license for the year, a shipment of 223 came in and I picked up 3 20-round boxes for 11$ a piece. Otherwise the shelf's were damn near empty. There were several people lined up to purchase the shipment.

A new store opened in town and advertised they had truckloads of ammo.
Stood in line for 30 minutes on opening day and they had no .22 anything.
Asked when they would get some more and the owner said: "2014?"

M4 in stock for $800

I bought the Hornady progressive re-loader and a number of accessories. I had rebates for one lot of 500 bullets and three lots of 100 bullets. I chose 223 for the 500 lot and 45, 9mm, and 10mm for the 100 lots. When i sent in the rebates the lot of 223 bullets was immediately shipped (two days ago) while the other three calibers are all on backorder. I was expecting the opposite.

I went to Carter's Country yesterday (Katy Freeway in Houston) and and they had some 9 mm, but one box per customer $21 for 50.

They actually had an ad for S&W M&P15 Optics Ready come out earlier this week for $999. I thought no way would they have any stock by Saturday, but they did. They had other, more expensive AR's as well like a Colt ($1150 - ish).

I still have not seen any 22lr or .223 in stores for a longgggggg time.

We just aren't spending time looking.  There are definitely things we would like to have more of, but I would also like to have more time and money.

I expect this shortage will catch up pretty soon, now that it looks as though Congress isn't going to take any gun control action in the near future.

Today I let my 9 year old son blast through 1/5 brick of Federal Champion .22lr I grabbed last fall.  Slightly wasteful I suppose,  but ammo will mostly likely return to normal.  Father and son time seemed slightly more important than ammo.

OBTW:  Kidd makes a replacement Ruger 10/22 charging handle that's VERY nice.  It's easier for little hands to get a good grip on.  Bolt cycled perfectly with mid-range spring that was included.

Thanks for the replacement charging handle idea!  Bought my son a compact 10/22 and everything is perfect except he has a hard time pulling back the charging handle and locking it back...

Ammo is starting to show up a little on the North side of Atlanta.  I saw two different places this weekend that had .22lr, .45ACP, .38 special, and a few other odd ball rifle rounds.  One store had a few .223 and there were plenty of shotgun shells available in both places.  Each store had a limit on 3 boxes of any ammo (excluding shotgun), so I picked up 3 each .22lr for $9.99 each at each store and a couple hundred 12 guage.  Still waiting to see 9mm though....

Kidd innovative design has good products.

Still bottom of the barrel for shotgun ammo; zero 22lr.

I have seen Walmart stock ammo twice over the last few weeks.  No folks pestering the guy - around 7:30am on Sat. seems to be a restock period.

Have you stocked up on gun powder?

I just had a MidwayUSA.com order of 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 from late December come off back order. Haven't heard a peep from mid-December .223 back orders. People I know, with more time than I, have been getting a little bit of everything from local Wal-Mart.

I watch Bulkammo.com and use it as my index for ammo. For the first time in a long time, 1000 rounds of .223 dropped from $899 to $869. This signifies a big price break for me.

Then again, I am not buying .223 above $0.60 because my stock is above my zombie attack minimum and I can go to the range and shot if I want.

But, I have not seen 9 mm or .22lr budge any. I need some 9 mm because I want to practice with my Glock and Kahr Pm9. I am in good shape on .22lr, but I paid a premium a few weeks ago.

In my little town I have seen no .22 lr at all. I just broke out another brick of .22 lr's from storage I have marked on them '03, This is the third brick I've used. If they don't become available soon I am going to be hurting.

At least 3 of the local shops in NH appear to be getting stock in.  They still have limits on the number of boxes you could buy but I can find just about any caliber I am looking for.  I am happy to see CCI mini Mag returning to stores even if I can only buy 2 boxes at a time.

Ok so for the last month and a half — the entire city of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are completely devoid of handgun ammo — as far as I can tell.

I ended up getting 2 boxes of .45 colt from a friend at work who mistakenly bought them for his .45 ACP (before looking at the box right after making his purchase and yelling "DOH!") and that is ALL the handgun ammo I have found in over a month and a half. Rifle ammo is gone too.

I can still find 12 gauge shells of all kinds — except for the home defense rounds (all these damn "deer hunters").

Any word on when I might be able to buy some rounds where I can actually feel like going to target practice instead of HOARDING THEM (in case we are never able to find ammo ever again)?

Adam,

My buddy got some ammo recently at the Gander Mountain in Moon.   He even scored 750 rounds of .22LR on his last trip!   He shoots .40 S&W and 9mm.   He said the only .223 they had though was the $1/round stuff.

He also reloads, but not sure where he is getting his supplies from for that, although he's said its been slim pickin's.

Still no ammo or components at local stores. But, I am seeing a bit more show up online. I picked up some 55 gr Zmax bullets from Wideners for about $12/100, even some 65 gr Sierra SP and choice of Hornady or Sierra 110 gr M1 Carbine RNSP bullets at Powder Valley. Big score was 400 ct of the new Nosler 64 gr Bonded SP .224 at Midway for $34/100 which is much cheaper than the Barnes TSX.

Also saw somw Winchester Large Rifle primers at PV a couple of days ago.

At the Olympia Cabela's they were low on popular ammo except shotgun. Lots of 12 ga and .410 slugs and 00 buck for sale. Even had a 50 shell bulk pack of Remington 00 Buck. All at normal prices. What .223 ammo they had was about 100% above pre-rush prices.

Overall a few if the popular components and some ammo starting to appear for longer than an instant.

I got a jar of IMR TrailBoss from a co-worker who ordered one of every available powder from a particular website.   (don't ask)

Not exactly a tactic I'd choose, but happy to acquire some cast lead plinking fuel.

Team,

I am seeing some downward price migration on bulkammo.com for 9mm right now that I have not seen since the panic of Dec. Hang in there for a couple more weeks and we could see some new lows.

I was in the Grandville Cabelas in Michigan lasy week, they are getting supplies in, .223 is typically the Herters (Tula) brand for 20rd/$7..... .22 still hard to find, but they did get some CCI mini mags in. Ammo guy there passed on that the Winchester/American Eagle rep was in and they recently told the feds to shove it, they were producing for the civillian market now......

I will say the last time I was at Cabella's (Wheeling, WV) — they had a large supply of .45 ACP but NOTHING ELSE in terms of handgun ammo. I think the selection was .45 ACP / 12 Gauge (and a few other shelves of obscure stuff that most people don't shoot).

I was having an easy time finding 380 rounds because most people shoot 9mm instead, but even the 380 is dried up.

I won't go shooting at all until I know I can re-supply at this point.

I went to Academy yesterday. The only pistol ammo they had was .45 GAP. Lots of that.

The only rifle ammo was deer hunting stuff. No .17 HMR, .22LR, .223, 5.56.

Really sad seeing all those bare shelves.

The local Walmart has been picked over for months.  All they have for .22 is shot shells.  For larger calibers if they have it, it's probably the most expensive personal defense or premium hunting rounds, not the cheap-to-shoot stuff.  Lots of choices in shotgun ammo though.  I commented to an employee that it looks pretty much the same as always, and she told me that they put out the new stuff in the morning, and it's usually gone in a few hours.

I found some H4831SC for $32 at the local gun shop! I can't believe it, it's been out everywhere for quite some time. I'm with PrepperJim- I'm becoming more hopeful as things that were unattainable become more available again.
