Hit by malicious product liability lawsuits and can no longer afford insurance.

Going to put a dent in gas storage capability for a while.

Thank goodness we have manufacturers in China willing to fill the void, since we can't go after them for liability suits.  This is why they will never start a war with us.  They like their stupid cash cow.

Kidding of course.

Half kidding perhaps...

Depends on what you mean.  I hate to buy items that are made elsewhere, but sometimes have no choice based on the fact that you can't find it made here anymore.  Or can't afford to buy something made here anymore.

Yes, I am a little biased.  My families income is partially based on products made out of country.  Most of the products my company manufactures are products that not only were invented by us, but even the process of needing the product made by us was invented by us.  We now make much of those products out of country because our government has made it impossible to make a sustainable profit over the cost of doing business here, or our customers are buying a less expensive copy from China.  We do the same (make a 2nd tier product) so we can compete.

I have never been a fan of the poor quality Blitz products.  I would argue they are not suitable for long term fuel storage anyways.  Of course, that is not relevant to the issue at hand.  Out of control litigation - cases that should never go to trial - that is the issue.

So if you need a gas can look to Midwest Can Company  http://midwestcan.com/ or Wedco.

First of all, Blitz cans mostly suck.

For plastic cans, you can't beat No Spill and they are US owned US made.

For metal cans, Justrite and Eagle make most of their cans here.

Bought last Blitz 5 gallon plastic can at a Target today for $12. The only other ones they had was No Spill 2.5 gallon ones. Not the best quality I know but good to have.
