Give me a week or so and I will have some more info - setup is 250cc side output motor, 1 wire 100 amp alternator, large car battery, 1500 watt inverter.

Guaranteed this is more modular, quieter, more fuel efficient than traditional generator. And it can run silent on battery power. And you can jump your car from it.

I did a similar set up on a push lawn mower frame with a 5.5 hp engine and a 140 amp alt off a big truck. Able to mount 2 golf cart batteries on deck with motor and alternator and inverter on handle. Have been using on and off for three years. I use a charger to keep batteries topped off. Like the one I use on my trolling motor. May not be as quiet as yours. But better than running generator as much when power is out. I salvage most of the stuff except for the batteries and inverter. They set me back a little over $200.

Test mule was running fridge, curling iron, 2 incandescent bulbs, 2 CF bulbs, 32" LCD tv, satellite box, small desk fan... motor was just above idle and inverter showing 1/2 draw. More testing this weekend. I'll get some pics once it's sorted.

Briggs motors are real easy to rebuild and maintain. Never known the simple ones I use to be quite. More like a lawn mower unless you have an effective muffler. Which on semi-stationary things "easy" to do.

Okay, sorry gang - got sidetracked by a leaking gas main (lot of digging, now repaired) and working out of town for a week.

250cc motor easily drives 100amp alternator powering large car battery and 1500 watt inverter. At just above idle will feed a 600 watt load easily and quietly.

Ran this 1/2 hour today with jumper cables charging a deep cycle marine battery and the on board battery - at that load it will run at a bare idle, which is not audible from inside. Burned about a tablespoon of fuel.

Not in the picture is 1500 watt alternator.

Also in picture - 400W inverter - can be run straight off battery for small chargers. Spare fan belt zip tied to wagon, jumper cables hanging off the side.

Dude, your build is so much cleaner than mine! Those powder-coated rails look awesome. I used wood, and it looks (and is) home-made. Yours looks commercial. Congrats. NICE!

I guess you can't tell from the pic, this is built on a little yard wagon with pneumatic tires. Makes it easy to roll around, especially if you need to jump a car. This one is all brand new equipment.

Nope, couldn't tell. No tires or other tell-tales, and just the one picture.

Knew I had to attach it, otherwise I can see myself tearing the garage apart some dark stormy night looking for it. Need spare spark plugs and some fuses. Running nothing but Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

Just picked up a battery tender brand smart charger - can charge / float 2 batteries at a time. $90 amazon

Could you do a parts list of your set up so others could follow in your footsteps? I am planning on using my car(s) as back up generators with an inverter, but would like dedicated generator someday. Your set up looks great and since you built it you know how to service it.
