Flojak Well pumps

Anyone have one of these?  Just wondering how the quality of these are.  Is it really neccesary, or can you buy a pump and some pvc from local home depot and accomplish the same thing?  Seems like a lot of money for what you get.   Just looking for some input.  thanks!

I've looked at them, but don't have one. I would like to hear from someone with firsthand knowledge as well.

Looks like a pretty reasonable set-up to me.  A few things to keep in mind though would include; do you have a cased well, how deep is your static water level, and will you have a problem using a pvc pump in the dead of winter (pvc can get pretty brittle in cold weather).
