My 13 in 13 thread
« on: January 11, 2013, 03:19:46 PM »
With spring around the corner it time to:

-Build steps for container garden
-Buy soil and mix it
-start pricing canning jars and lids

Working on knife sharpening now, rather interesting trying to sharpen serrated edges.

And while sprouting my seeds I plan on acquainting myself with handling sprouts for meals.

Also trying my hand at $100 dollar business to learn PRACTICAL entrepreneurship.

As for Bartering, a cable channel has a show named "Barter Kings" that I'm studying, though their method is to largely look on Craigslist for free stuff and trade up with other people.

That is not really my vision, I'm more thinking of a quid pro quo arrangement w/gift cards involved.

Hmm, heavy rains here in early January, it is warm but dreary.

However, it is a good time to harvest the earth worms that are being forced to the surface to escape the soggy ground and add them to my container pots.

Caveat is..better be sure to turn the soil in the pots BEFORE adding them!

 ;D

Have a Baldor Buffer, but found a croc stick..works really really well

The problem with the baldor is the wheels "grab" blades, and you lose the line in the blade edge when sharpening, the stick however, works super well as a hone.

I think people also forget to strop the blade on either card board or a jeans pant leg.

This removes the wire, the part of the edge that flips over
