Anyone know anywhere online you can still order 5.56/.223 ammo in bulk?

Thanks

I don't know any specific places, but I've seen a number of sites that you can sign up for notifications when items come in. When you get the notification, snap it up immediately! I received an email this morning about 5.56 at $.50 a round. When I read my email 2-3 hours later, it was already sold out.

Keep an eye on bulkammo.com! Every now and then they will sell 1000 rds but the cost will vary at times on the high end. It is all about supply and demand! Right now it is all demand!

Stay safe and good luck!

I am on update lists at a few places and been watching bulk ammo closely but no luck yet. I went to a local gun show on Saturday and wa amazed how fast ammo went out of that place pallets of .223 and 9mm gone in half an hour.

Any websites in particular that would be good to watch?

Lucky Gunner keeps getting .223 and 5.56 in from time to time. It doesn't last long and it is not super cheap. Keep checking if you need it. I don't think an ammo ban is being discussed, although new taxes and regulations are. If you can wait it out, ammo will come back around.

Yea I don't think the ammo is going to be banned. I just got my first AR15 this weekend and really want to take it out and I can't seem to find ammo anywhere. I'll keep an eye on lucky gunner though, thanks for the tip.

Not sure of your location, but the local Cabela's here had 223 on the shelf... a few thousand rounds of it.

At least in Idaho the shelves haven't turned into dust collectors yet, and inventory does come in, though not at the level it has been.

The cabelas here in wa was pretty used up when I was in there last, no mags for anything (pistols, ar, .22) over ten rounds and very limited selection of ammo for 9mm and .223/5.56 but I haven't checked in a couple days so I should probably stop in there

At this point your best bet might be to check with family and friends to see if anyone will sell you some.  I would sell/gift to my family if they needed it. Especially if you promise to restock them when prices come down and ammo is in abundance again. IF not there then take your .22LR rifle to the range and chat with some of the guys there and see if anyone would sell to you at less than astronomical prices.

If you explain you are just starting off and have a new rifle and no ammo there is likely someone that will sell you some to help a newbie.  Many guys will NOT sell to someone if they think that person is going to turn right around and selll it for a premium price and profit.

Take a look on gunbroker right now as an example of why you shouldn't panic...1000rds of Federal sold for $1,227.  There will be more ammo available, try NoDak Arms, another show sponser.  Their reloads are good, and they don't gouge people.  I bought two 30 rd AR15 magazines two weeks ago for 17.99 from them.  A mfg in Minot makes them.  Don't look too bad.  Lets not panic, and let this ride out a bit.

For the long-term, get a .22 conversion kit for your AR.  They run about $60-75, but are well worth it for saving you cash.

Otherwise, I'd go local for ammo.  There's plenty in the stores, they just want $850+/1,000.  Online is very hit or miss right now.

Bulk ammo had some in 500 round lots of 55 grain american eagle for $389. They were gone in less than an hour after it was posted on line. You have to be quick to get stuff in these times.

Try http://www.gunbot.net/ and specify the caliber you're looking for.  Prices from various retailers are updated in near-realtime and also indicate stock status.
