How I make a self chumming catfish noodle
« on: June 09, 2013, 03:45:51 PM »
Here's how I make my catfish noodles. I believe in gang setting traps, so if I'm going to make a noodle I'm going to use at least two hooks. This is a quick, simple and cheap way to have your noodles attract more fish because each one is carrying a little bag of chum with it as it floats.

If you make more chum than you will be using at one time, divide it up into small plastic cups and freeze it.    Don't use Styrofoam cups, they stick to the frozen part and break up.    I've seen them use chum frozen in a block or bucket and used to chum for sharks.   You can take the frozen cups with you and dump them into the kneehigh without getting it on your hands.   Ground fish and meat is a lot easier to handle this way.
