An interesting thing just flashed past on my television; a picture of large crowds outside the Bank Of England buildings (the UK's central bank) in July 1914 just before the announcement of war. The reporter noted
"large queues of people looking to exchange their paper money for gold, to try to protect their investments"

As Jack says on the show all the time, "the more things change the more they stay the same"

Have we not been dragged through a couple of wars recently and would we each have been in a much better position if we had some of our wealth in gold, silver or even copper?

Sorry some of the media may not be available outside of the UK.

Cheers
