Harvested exactly TWO medlars (they need to get frozen before they are ripe to harvest). But it's only been two years since the little tree was planted, so I hope this was just a preview of what it may yet bring us. Haven't tasted it yet. I have planted two more medlars in 2015, out of which one seems to be pretty much dead, but I'm giving it time to revive this Spring. The oldest one may get some trimming this year, as will some other trees I planted over the last three years. Apples, pears, cherry, sour cherry, amelanchier (Am. Canadensis lives, Am. Lamarckii seems dead), cornel, honeysuckle, chestnut, walnut....

The Meyer lemons have been here, hardly any real cold this year, so no frost damage for once. Lots of fruit. Also harvesting Miners lettuce, it self seeds under some of the fruit trees. I had lemon sorrel and red russian kale, but let the chickens out to free range and they ate it all !

First strawberries from the new 125 plants we set out earlier, from Shumway.
Pulled one red onion to see how it was doing.

Need to build a hidden bunker with a autofire weapon to catch the wabbit that has discovered my 5" tall corn...... :badgarden:

So far this week a double-handful of cayenne and jalapeƱo peppers, just a couple of cayennes today.

Okra's showing some little starts of fruit.  Should have the first side-dish of the stuff late next week.  I'm staying on top of the fire ant situation this year.  It was frustrating to have the little bastards ruin half my crop last year, but once they got established there was no fighting them back in time to save things.

A few more strawberries.
Gotta figure which/what critter is taking a bite out of a few of them. One bite and leaves the rest, about half of the berry.
Turtle? Wabbit?

Planting season is just in its early stages here is zone 5, but my Egyptian walking onions are up & I harvested some that had walked to inappropriate locations.  I've also foraged violet leaf & plantain from the yard for herbals, and been snipping at my choice, sage & lovage.

Mine's flowering out, getting ready make some squash.  Lots of busy pollinators around the plants.  Patience....

In the meantime, the okra and cherry tomatoes are kicking in production.  Ate the first few handfuls of each this past weekend.

I started 6 plants under grow lights in my BOL. so I get early and late produce.

Radishes, first thing I've picked out of the big garden.  ;D . Couple onions to see how they are doing.

Tomatoes shouldn't be too far off....Big and green.

Can radishes be stored/saved?

Ah, I am such a bum.  I feel like I barely got mine in the ground, and am hoping they produce something before the heat really gets going.  I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that okra and peppers will do OK out in the sunny parts of the garden, but tomatoes and, well, about anything else need a little bit of shade in this heat.  Can't believe that the summer solstice is almost upon us.

I plant the butternut as ground cover and in partial shade, tomatoes are not doing too well this year...even with daily watering.

Been harvesting lettuce and spinach for a few weeks.  But I just picked my first batch of peas, zukes, and broccoli.  Not too much longer for the fist big wave...   ;D

Blueberries are starting to turn.  Cukes and beans are starting to form.  Tomato starting to flower.  Saw a few melons starting too.

Well that sucks. Romas seem to stand some heat when others don't. I always try to have a few romas. I must have ten different varieties this year. 108 plants.

3' beans. Now that's something!!!

More radishes today. Have some huge tomato's coming on. Abe Lincoln brand. First I've ever seen/planted and of these

Asparagus beans, often called long beans...I was introduced to them by a korean co-worker about 25 years ago.

Got 2 25' rows of 24" corn back up and hilled up (in the mud).
97 degree temp and close to 100% humidity today, I did that off and on.
When the better half got home, She helped me with the 6' corn. We got a 65' row rehilled up, plus half of another one, in the mud.  ::)

So at 9pm after I got the chickens closed up, it started sprinkling and got windy.....again.
Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings....... :(

Got my corn straightened back up and rehilled. whew......

Lost maybe 20 stalkes. Not too bad I guess.

Picked the first 2 ripe tomatoes today. Racoon picked 4 green ones yesterday. Wasteful little critters aren't they. Take a bite then leave the rest.

We've harvested some Elder blossoms for drying. Also some Melissa officinalis(hope that's how you translate it). Likely no plantain harvesting for making syrup this year - we've stocked enough last year.

The little white flowers? They are falling off of our elderberrys now, making bulbs.
What do you use those for?
