... All the "step-child produce" that is perfectly edible but merely LOOKS yucky and undesirable? Well ... an anti-food-waste program in France has been launched to try and bring a screeching halt to the travesty of hundreds of tons per year of otherwise fine food hitting the supermarket dumpsters. And it's working! Here's an awesome video (in English) which explains this nifty food-rescuing program. In it, the "bastard fruit" becomes the "inglorious fruit."
These are the foods we get in at gleaners. And we are not getting this year. We should have been on many field picks thus far, since it is August, and thus far it is not happening. Cedar
