InteliScope - Putting your smart phone to work on your AR

love the idea of your phone being your tech on your AR.
(red-dot/windage/heads up display/GPS/Zoom/etc..)

Hate the mount.

Lining up that all important shot when your wife calls to remind you not to miss the shot?  I think not.

That is the stupidest thing I have seen in a while, and I use my smartphone for running ballistics software.

You would have to resight your rifle every time you put your phone on it unless you purchased a dedicated phone which could stay mounted. The camera of the phone is not centered over the bore.

And yeah, try shooting moving targets (or try shooting targets while moving) with the latent lag built into the telephone.

Oh well, I expect to see some Tacticool Twenty-something with one at the range, soon.

Well I measured and it looks like it will fit between the rail mounted coffee grinder and rail mounted ash tray. I will be sacrificing my upside down bipod, though...

How is anybody buying this? I mean really, nevermind the fact that the camera is off axis, the screen blocks a ton of vision, and it solves no real problems. It's still stupid. Even worse. Now my rifle relies on my phone. Nevermind, I'm sure it's co-witnessed.

How do get into tactical marketing?

I agree, the mount blocks everything...

but with phone getting more and more tech, might be something to watch.

Including a homing beacon.  :tinfoily:   I'd definitely watch for that one.

Hmmm. . .  With th cell phone's built-in GPS and compass and interconnectivity with other cell phones in your team. . .and possibly a ranging laser blue-toothed to the shooter's cell, some modifications to the camera's software. . .

You could see someone through the camera and know that they're not in your team and broadcast that information to your team automatically for display in a little "radar HUD."

Of course, we're assuming your friends paid their phone bill, but. . .
