40 S&W: Priming (video)
« on: March 15, 2015, 07:47:31 PM »
Not an instructional video, just a demonstration...

The same process is used for any handgun ammo.

Some cartridges are small primer and some are large primer.

(My setup below)
Small primer:
40 S&W, 38 Spl, 357 Mag, 9mm

Large primer:
45 ACP

For single stage press I found the Lee hand priming tool faster...and it had a better feel...
but that's just my opinion, you have a good looking bench..

Thanks for sharing that...I use the same tools just a different technique...yours looks easier. I'll be trying yours next time I prime brass. I've got big hands so doing all the work above the press has to be easier.

I have plenty of hand strength, but using the press I dont have to worry about the joints in my hands getting sore.

Ive also used Remington, CCI and Winchester primers in this press primer without any problems what so ever.

The mechanical advantage the press affords makes seating primers almost kindergarten!
