I am wondering where everyone buys their supplies - gear, food, containers and so on. I've read within posts where members has mentioned but I wanted to get a "big picture".

We have an awesome store called Appalachian Outfitters.  It's pretty expensive but they have the best climbing and camping gear, and it's a local store.

For food and toiletries we hit Sam's, and Costco.

For firearms related items I use our local gun shop and range, and I hit Gander Mountain a ton to see what they have in the used firearms section.

I don't buy much online because I like to look at things and check them out in person.  I do occasionally reorder stuff online.

I use this forum as my "consumer reports"  there is more information here about all sorts of things, than anywhere else.

get food and toiletries from sam's
get all others from walmart but tend to not like going there.
then i really love buying from local venders.

i live in a city of 14,000 people so the local venders are the backbone of the community so i go to the butcher and the seafood guys when i get a chance. whne walmart and sam's packs up and shuts down, the local guys and farmers (Thibodaux is cane and cattle country) will still be around.

A big +1 for shopping with the locals.  YOU are the backbone of our America!

I had to check all 5.
Mine are probably evenly split.
Wal-Mart, Sams for much of our food.
Emergency Essentials for some food and our food storage containers.
Raintree Nursery and seedsofchange.com for most of our fruit and vegetable seeds and plants.
Other plants came from a local nursery.
I've gotten a lot of MREs from a co-worker.
I got my water barrels from co-workers who got them for me from Dr. Pepper.
Water barrel pump and generator came from Northern Tool and Supply.
Tarps, wood, nails came from a couple of local suppliers.

I get 90% of my stuff from the local Super Wal*Mart.
There is a Cabela's in Wheeling that I've gotten a few things from. I mostly look for sale items though.
I've also used Amazon.com's "mall" to get a few things. Again, I look for bargains.
And then there's the dollar stores... good for first aid supplies, batteries and other basics that I think I'll need lots of.

Grocery stores for most of my food. A local bulk/dry store for some items like soup mixes and dried fruits.

Hardware is from a chain store called Canadian Tire. They carry a lot of Chinese crap, so it's MEC (our version of REI) for important camping items.

I almost never go to Costco or Wal-Mart. I hate the crowds and the parking, and often their products are too large in size for just my wife and I to store/rotate.

We have been getting our stuff from a couple of places. For food items we got to Canned Food Outlet, Albertson's, Safeway, Wal-Mart and Bi-mart and  Dollar Tree.  For the other stuff we shop at the normal camping and hunting stores. One thing that we like to do a much as possible is garage shopping. It's really fun and entertaining and I keep a small note book with me all the time to keep references in so that when I'm at garage sales I generally keep focused. Remember, one man's junk is another man's treasure. Besides, I earn lots of extra points when I take my wife shopping  ;D.

I checked 'em all too.

Bulk canned stuff I buy at local discount food sellers.
Bulk rice & beans from Wally World.
Gear & equipment I get from places like County Comm, DIY Tactical & a few other online gear whore stores, I make some of it myself.
Buckets I get from Home Depot.
Gamma Seals I usually buy off Ebay or from Emergency Essentials.
Ammo I buy local at a friend's store or Wally World.

I'll buy from just about anyone that has a good deal going.  I usually research quite a bit before I lay out a lot of coin on something.
