We are now running under SMF version 2.0.10.  Mostly you will see no changes from our previous software.

If you were using anything other than the default theme (look and layout settings), I apologize, but it wasn't feasible to retain your previous settings.  At the moment, everybody is using the default theme.  Instructions for changing your theme are here.

Smartphone users: try out the Mobile theme, which is designed for small screens.

Chat is gone for now, due to low demand and abandonment of the software by its authors.  We'll be on the lookout for a substitute.

The Google Member Map (displayed in your profile) is also gone, again due to abandonment by the software authors.  I may try to get this working again, but dunno if it's possible.  Just in case, we've retained your location settings in the database, so you won't need to re-pin yourself if we manage to fix things.

Please let me know if you find anything that isn't working the way you expect!

I have already let Mr. Bill know, but in case someone else is seeing this.

Something odd is happening here. When I post a reply, it flips me to the board the thread is on instead of returning me to the thread I just posted in.

It's an individual setting:

Profile > Modify profile > Look and layout: check "Return to topics after posting by default" and click "Change profile".

I don't know why it got changed for you.  I'll look into it.

On the same page, you might want to turn on Quick Reply:
Use quick reply on topic display: show, on by default

I can't find where this setting is stored in the database, but I have a guess how it got lost.  I had to reset everyone to use the default theme.  This setting (and the others on the Look and Layout page) are associated with the selected theme, so resetting everyone's theme probably reset all these other settings to their defaults.

If so, there was probably no simple way to avoid this.  Sorry about that.  I hope it doesn't affect too many people.

Oh, by the way:

(Like it matters on an all-English forum... but it makes me happy in a nerdy way.)

When I write a post, the end of my line before it drops me to the next line is way off the page to the right.  Makes it hard to proofread.

Writing doesn't wrap. It is this hideous long line that goes on forever to the right. I send photos to archer what it looks like

Yep, the only issue I see so far is the text not wrapping when typing replies.

As far as the themes go - I had changed mine a long time ago.  But now I'm finding I actually like the default better.

I'm not seeing it in either the default theme or Iceland, using Firefox.  I'll do some checking.

Do not see the problem in Chromium with default theme.

It's incorrectly calculating the width of the editor textarea and making it bigger than the surrounding box, for SOME users, but I don't know why.

Would someone who is having the text-wrapping problem please try this for me?

Switch into WYSIWYG mode.  It's this button , bottom row of buttons at the far right.

Does this eliminate the problem?  Also please tell me what browser you are using.

Possible cause of the text-wrapping problem:

YOU NEED TO CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE!

Someone please give that a try and report back here.  Thanks!

I have also just emptied the forum's own cache, in case that was the problem.  But I'm guessing it's individual users' browser caches that are the issue, because not everyone is seeing the problem.

I notice I am seeing sigs and avatars which I had turned off, but that's ok. I'll change it if it bothers me.

Re text wrapping: I toggled the wysiwyg button and got a message that my browser (IE 11) does not support Rich Text editing.
Also not a big deal.

FreeLancer reports this:

I experienced the line wrapping issue on my iMac running Firefox.  I cleared the cache and restarted Firefox and it seems to have solved the problem.

Much better!!!

Hmmm.. in hindsight I should have just seen if it was still broken on my end before I dumped my cache. I did not reboot, but it looks normal now.

My avatar however is still wonky, but like I said, no biggie. It was time for a change anyway?

Rebooted and it still looks wonky. Everyone else looks fine so far to me.
