'Jellyfish-lamb' ends up on French plates by error
« on: June 23, 2015, 06:47:46 PM »
A fluorescent lamb that had been genetically modified with jellyfish protein to give it transparent skin ended up mistakenly being eaten in France, even though it was only meant to be used in research, reports said on Tuesday.

GMOs instill great confidence in me when they cannot keep track of one SINGLE sheep, which is supposed to be under lock and key in a lab. Yet ends up on one or more unsuspecting people's plates.

On a side note, what is the scientific benefit of transparent skin?

Or was that curious trait nothing more than one of several unintended results of the the genetic engineering?
