Shipping containers... Again

I know there's been some discussion of these low cost containers being used as cabins, bunkers and storage before.  We even have a member who built a beautiful cabin out of two of them.  Now Germany is using them as a low cost, easily built housing unit for Syrian refugees.

But there's always the discussion about putting one in the ground for a storm or fallout shelter, which is where these two articles are interesting:

Failure

An inexpensive right way

Cool! But I feel it would be just as easy to lay out some concrete block and make a roof that will hold dirt.

I want a shipping container someday as a tool shed, specifically for tools stored as preps in a hidden corner of the property.

I'll dig a root cellar for temperature controlled storage.
