Our World War
« on: December 22, 2016, 11:09:04 AM »
I just started watching Our World War on Netflix. It's an attempt at a truthful view of the first world war from the perspective of the Brits who fought in it. Gritty. Unflinching. Not for the weak kneed. But beautifully filmed and a window into the minds of those who suffered.

I have a bit of a fascination with WWI which I would call the greatest disaster in the modern world both for its carnage and its poorly conceived results. This series sucked me in quick.

I have Netflix, so I'll have to look that up.

I know everyone is obsessed with WWII, but I've always been partial to WWI.  Even my sheet music collection is mostly from that era, with a lot of the patriotic war stuff from Britain and the US.
