Probably a 14500 cell, which is a 14x50mm cylinder.

what flashlight it is?
there is a high chance that it will work with any AA type, albeit with decreased output.

You will need a Lithium Ion charger also,You must feed the mule.

Did you try an AA cell first? The 14500 and charger can be costly for a $5 flashlight.

OOOPS!

if the internal diameter is 11/16ths then it is 17.4mm....
then you will need 17500s, which are rather hard to come by. Check the vapping stores....

I miss the old days... AAA AA C or D...

Amazon's order will be here tomorrow. If they work I'm good if not I can send them back and try the 17500.

Yes,D2 charger is great...14-500 is a 3.7 volt lithium that is almost exactly the size of an AA cell...
it is possible that your light had a cell holder for 3 of the AAA cells or a 18-650 or even two of the A123 cells.

Good luck ,yes the battery sizes are getting tough these days.

I tired the 3AAA cell, to big.
18650 to big.

Not sure about the A123

The suspense is building..

A123 is same size around and about half as long as 18-650

I just measured the light again... taking account of the threads and the need for some "play" inside. I think it more like 5/8 ths inch or less.

Crap, looks like I steered you wrong with my math. I could of sworn I checked it twice with google conversion.

It might be a 16650, which replaces 2 x CR123's.

No worries...

I'm having fun..getting schooled in battery tech.

We'll start with the 14500s and adjust from there.

Ok, "a delay by a day from Amazon"....is it me or dose that sound like a song title? Anyway.....

I got them today and the light works!! But....with the battery in the light I can fit a toothpick between the light body and the battery, we got the length and voltage right. If we stay with the 2" length what is the next 2 sizes in diameter bigger.

THe batteries I'm got are 14500

If the length is perfect, there might not be any larger diameter cells that will fit.

Look at the List of Li-ion Sizes table in Wikipedia:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battery_sizes

The closest length to the 14500 is the 17500, which is 17.3mm in diameter and 50mm long.  The 14500 has a 14mm diameter and is 53mm long.  I just measured a standard round toothpick diameter at 2mm, so the 17500 could wind up being a millimeter larger than the diameter of your light.

If there's an additional 12mm of travel in the spring you could fit a longer cell, which would allow you to use the 16x65mm 16650 cell.  But that seems like a big if.

I would just add a plastic sleeve or heat shrink (I have lots of heat shrink) and let it go as you are not likely to improve the situation.
