    • Tactical Woodgas - run your generator on scrap wood
Deep well pump running on woodgas
« on: May 30, 2018, 10:11:41 AM »
Installed this in Oregon yesterday.  Customer is completely off grid and wanted to run his 8kW generator on scrap wood instead of gasoline.  Also, is worried about gas price if war starts with Iran.  Install, generator modification, and start-up training completed in 2 hours.

I got no sound on the YT but anyway. In the 50's my mother I think it was told me that if I put some wood sticks in a coffee can with a lid and heated that on the stove I could light the vapor coming out of the can. I worked. That was the old coffee cans with the key to unwind the sealing metal. Can't do that anymore.

Cool.  How long will the generator run on material being gasified before needing new material to be added?

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

It would be interesting to see how much wood would run the generator for a certain length of time. Like a 1/4 cord would run for 8 hours or whatever. Just a general idea.
