Cushaw Bread

Various places here I've mentioned that I was canning cushaw this year. For those not familiar with it it is a winter typed hard skinned squash. It can be used as any other winter type squash. Here is a Cushaw Bread recipe I made. Quite good.

There are others that use nuts and raisins.

I'm also planning to make pie and soup with it.

Looks like a nice-sized squash. I grew hubbards one year and they were a bit too large for my family. That looks a bit more manageable.

The ones I had were 12 to 13 lbs. Yes a nice size. I've read they can get up to 20 pounds. That ain't me in the pic. I handsomer  :rofl: .
