Building a Radical Revolutionary Book Collection
« on: December 31, 2019, 01:56:04 PM »
What are some of the great radical and revolutionary books of all time?

I am making a themed book shelf and want to include books like:

1984
Anarchist Cookbook
Fahrenheit 451
Steal this book
Atlas shrugged
Guerrilla warfare
Power to the people: the world of the Black panthers
Etc.....

Well the obvious Bible but beyond that...

Art of War
The Prince
Rules for Radicals

I'd add the Gun Digest books of different firearms. Manuals are good too. Don't overlook seemingly simple things like the Boy Scout Field Manual.

If you really want to go deep like the Anarchist Cookbook there is Kurt Saxon's Weaponeer. Be warned this is literally a book about making improvised weapons to the point of manufacturing poisons and delivery systems. It's dark if you can find it. I haven't seen a copy in years.

Kurt Saxon's Weaponeer

Yeah, that was way too dark for us.  We had a copy years ago -- I think we may have saved a few interesting pages somewhere, and trashed the rest.  He was too far into fantasies of not-in-self-defense poisoning of people that he didn't like... and I'll leave it at that.

The Anarchist Cookbook is reputed to contain a bunch of dangerously flawed recipes.

I'll see what's on our shelves -- maybe I can add a few to the list.

A lot of Heinlein like the Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

Total Resistance - Swiss Army Guide to Guerrilla Warfare and Underground Operations

Claire Wolf's works like 101 Things to Do 'Til the Revolution: Ideas and Resources for Self-Liberation, Monkey Wrenching and Preparedness and Basics of Resistance: The Practical Freedomista, Book I

Boston's Gun Bible

Fred's Guide to Being a Rifleman and his fighting the UN story

Ragnar's action encyclopedia of practical knowledge and proven techniques

You can also get old Paladin Press/Loomponics catalogs and find a lot of titles.

Have you looked around lately and felt like something's fundamentally wrong? Are you tired of having to ask permission to live your life? Are you angered by the level of control and surveillance you see everywhere? Are you sick of everyone wanting your data? If you want to do something about it but aren't sure where to start, this book is for you. Well-known resistance author Claire Wolfe ("The Freedom Outlaw's Handbook" and the "Hardyville Tales") has teamed up with counterintelligence analyst and liberty activist Kit Perez to pen a beginning "how-to" for those who are ready to do more than complain on social media.

I meant to mention that most, if not all, military manuals like this are available in PDF format.  I haven't found any pages that carry all of them, but there's are a bunch of sites with a lot of manuals.

Military Newbies
FAS Intelligence Resource Program
U.S. Army

I've browsed military manuals over the years and have found virtually nothing useful, but interesting. I have a military survival manual with a chapter on desert survival that was very well thought out, but the unlikely possibility that I will end up in a desert survival plight I don't know if it is worth my time to give it much attention. As an armchair survivalist I don't know how to make use of military information.
