National Map and the USGS LIDAR maps
« on: February 18, 2020, 11:49:21 AM »
This seemed to be the best place to post this.
I recently became aware that the USGS has been integrating LIDAR into its mapping services https://www.usgs.gov/core-science-systems/national-geospatial-program/national-map.
Based on various YouTube videos and websites, it's supposed to be possible to download this data and import it into Google Earth or Google Earth Pro.

I've been attempting to do this with little to no success and wondered if anyone here has any recommendations on how to do it ??
I seem to get nothing but either Access Denied or the site just sits and spins its wheels doing nothing. Leave it to the government to screw things up and make what should be easy a total nightmare.

I think this could be a very useful tool for people here for a multitude of purposes.
