Sales Tax Holidays
« on: August 04, 2009, 08:45:29 PM »
Found this while going through my usual spots and thought I would post it just in case anyone lives in or near a border of one of these states. Hope some of you out there can use it.

The sales tax holidays are nice if your area doesn't opt out every year....like mind does. ::)

It would be nice to be able to spend my money locally when something like this is offered.

Man, if they tried to opt our here, the place would be burned to the ground. You don't even want to be out with the hordes shopping on the sales tax holiday here. What an unruly mob.

The bitch of it is, Missouri isn't even in bad shape economically compared to many of the other states.  They could actually afford to give us all a break....but no....it's the same shit every year.  My area opts out of the tax holiday.

Virginia has a sales tax holiday for Energy Star appliances coming up in October.

The cool one is hurricane preparedness in May.  Generators, bottled water, etc. all sales tax free.

Like I say every May for this tax holiday, "You get to prep for TSHTF, and stick it to the man at the same time!"
