This is officially my favorite response I've gotten on here... cuz it calls me young ;)

We did our first ever pressure canning yesterday. Got 12 pints of sweet potatoes. Only had one jar leak so we're happy. All the sudden finishing the shelves I started months ago had become the no.1 priority. Got no place to put the potatoes.

Oh, she has that full already. They are stashed around the house.

Cut a little firewood today.

More? Gad, we don't have that many trees here. Glad it's not cold many days.

Spent quite some time to formatting and filling a table will all the Greek National Radio (NPR similar) Station freqs. They vary a lot by region, and during my week long journey i had to do with my old outdated table.
Considering the G.N.R. has a huge size and using several repeaters per mountain top, it will be the last stations to go down.

This morning I got the lumber to finish my shelves and ordered several cans of Augason Farms dehydrated bell pepper and onions. I found some prices I thought decent on Amazon. Already had several cans of shredded potatoes on the way.

Bread crumbs????

I got two antenna design parties planned for this weekend as a 51 foot DOUBLET is planned for Jeff (6 through 80 meters with a tuner and 4 to 1 balun) and Austin needs a 40 meter dipole to use when he transfers to Japan and uses hic PC and radio to "talk" back to the US with CW...as a technician he took to the idea of CW with his computer pretty quick as he learns CW and studies for his General class Ham ticket so he can then have a real ball during his off time (Air Force)

Also have another Ham coming by to repair or replace his auto VHF/UHF antenna as I keep a few spare antennas hanging on nails in my Ham station.

Firearms training: finaly went back to my local range active pistol training, tody we did some IDPA excercises, which was very interesting, I did not worry about or consider my time. I have some new motivation from it, and will post a few questions over in the firearms training thread. Shooting with my off hand was interesting as I can hardly keep recoil down with both hands. Ordered more training ammo, as my state will have limited ammo availability.

Food prep: Last night made a round of Colby cheddar, it is now cold enough to age cheese in my pantry. It is out drying at room temp right now. A few days agao I pressure canned Dal, I left out the oil, and hopefully this was safe. Jars look good, a couple have level at 1.5 inches rather than 1 inch, I may put those if fridge and eat first. 11 pint jars of spit pea dal.

Garden: Ordered peanut and flax seeds. Because I am silly, I guess. Still exploring easy crops for this location. Wish I could order seed potatoes as the places that sell do not ship until april, and I should plant in March.

Refreshed my stock of AA/AAA batteries.  About 5 years ago I migrated from normal batteries to rechargeable for most of my flashlights.  This resulted in my consumption of batteries to drop to almost zero....so what was a 1 year supply based on consumption was now much longer.

The other day I was looking for a fresh set of batteries for my portable speakers and noticed that more than a few batteries had started to show the classic failure of white goo leaking out.  So out went the bad batteries in all of my storacell holders,   https://storacell.net/ and restocked with fresh.

I highly recommend the battery holders to help keep batteries organized and work well in a go bag.

Like a thief in the night,Jeff went into my back yard and put 2 bundles of 1 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe and a bag of pipe caps on my rack of antenna supplies....GOOD DEEDS have a way of returning as I have helped him in the past with needed gizmos and gadgets and now that I don't go to the hardware store ,as I still can't walk so well, things I need often just 'show up'.

Working on my dissertation so I can close that part of my life and move on. Since it's archeology dissertation, I'm learning some useful stuff (namely old forging techniques).
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for couple items to be back in stock/custom made (ballistic plates, Saiga12 rail system, etc.). My russian chest rig for large magazines (308/12ga) has arrived, will see if I can modify it to be a switchable front panel for my plate carrier.

Combination of cutting brush to clear the pasture, and getting firewood put up for next year.
I always like to have it up a year ahead, especially the wood for the house.
Nice dry firewood burns so much better/easier. Also less danger of a flue fire.

The shop firewood? I'm not so picky there. Shop stove and flue could handle rocket fuel if I could talk the Aliens into leaving me some.  ;D

Hmmm. Finish filling the compost bin with leaves then topping with wood chips. Let it do it's thing over the winter. Apply it to the garden next year, for food.... ;D
