I have been busy with bathroom remodel. We got frustrated trying to tile yesterday and are on break --
I dug up more of my potatoes, good yield for how late I planted. Still a third of the bed to go, I m getting a pound or two per plant.
No ripe tomatoes yet, well, a couple cherry tomatoes, tomatoes are late all over my area of the mountain. First summer squash is about ready to pick, costata romanesca. Then I wont be able to give it away. Bell peppers are forming well. Cucumbers are almost there.
Drove to another part of the state today and bought a new, expensive buck, since none of our does settled this year. We are happy that he and old guy are not beating each other up. New guy's name is James Dean -- Jimmy. He is too much in rut to pet right now. Kind of last minute, but I think this year feels like "time to settle your mare" type feelings in the air.
The chicks are all still alive and growing, all 5 of them
Went to our gun club monthly pistol event, and took my youngest. Took 3 months to convince as this one has not been shooting lately, and now wishes had gone the previous months ! Good practice on shooting while moving, walking backwards and forwards, and also horozontally one person at a time with multiple stationary and a moving target. Some ran it, I walked it, and hit them sufficiently. Good practice.
-- Oh, I harvested green onion tops from the walking onion starts SURFIVOR sent me, they are doing well. Unfortunatelly, KNECHT, the bean seeds you sent were all eaten as the sprouted ! This is a tough bean area, thanks so much for them, I am still working on what beans will not be tasty to the bugs and grow and yield here. But, the seeds from a different friend for dual purpose, green beans/black dry beans lived and are growing now we will see if they will ripen and yield here !
