Got a 32' row of green okra in.
Replanted a few pole beans that I didn't think were coming up, and while making a small hole to put the beans in, found some of the others that had sprouted, but hadn't poked through yet.  ::)
Cantaloupe is starting to poke through after 14 days. I was ready yesterday to go buy new seeds and replant, thinking last years seeds weren't going sprout. I think it's due to too many cool, rainy days, and I'm anxious.  ??? Same with the red okra. Sprouting is spotty.
It's already up to 70 here today, so maybe the soil will finally do some warming up.

Planted 20 more tomato plants. Abe Lincoln variety. These are a large, healthy looking tomato. Great for slicing, whatever. I'll put in another 12 or so then switch varieties. I have some yellow tomatoes to put in and try this year.

Yesterday I finished remaking my EDC gear / survival / travel kits. They now all have the same contents and materials are organized in ziplocks per function (hygeine, food, electronics etc etc)

I received the dc board chargers for making tiny Nimh battery chargers power from USB or lithium batteries.

Got 14 Corbaci and 8 Jalapeno peppers in without a sign of rain yesterday. Amazing....simply amazing.  ;D Though the forecast is calling for damaging thunderstorms this evening. That must be hail and chit coming down.  :(

Bought a few LT's for the storeroom yesterday, and replenished a few things in the rotating pantry.

I need to be settling down and getting serious about getting a manual well pump for the well. I'm not looking forward to spending 600.00 for a dual, deep well pump.
Any other ideas out there??

Tilled under some poorly developed/washed out turnips and planed 32' of beets in that space.
Did some weed picking and tilling.
Planted 6 hills of Cushaw squash.
Planted another 25' row of pole beans.
Mulched more taters.
Did *not* sunburn my ass this time as I made sure my T-shirt was long enough to cover said ass when bent down on my knees.  ;D
Tadaaaaaa..........

Oh....and the 50% forecasted rain hasn't happened...........yet.  ::)

Yes they should keep several months. They make good pie and bread. My grandmother used to bake them with lots of butter, brown or white sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. Very good. Old time southern food.

Looks like we're gonna get pretty wet this week. Tropical disturbance in the Gulf moving into upper Mexico or south TX.

Got the cucumber bed re prepared again.
Planted pole beans in both ends, they can climb the pallets for supports.
Planted some beets in places where the turnips are not doing good in all this moisture. Beets seem to thrive in wet soil better.

Tended garden, mulching and weeding. Wife got her herbs all in.
Moved the stinky, mudball piggies to pen #5. Couldn't find em for several hours, as the grasses and buck brush are 4' tall in there.  ;D

Feed the local buzzards down the road some fine raccoon again.

Sowed oats and added fertilizer to the unused portion of the garden, about 20x40.
Ground whole wheat for flour from the storeroom stock.
Wife is processing more honey, and will jar it tomorrow.
