Went to local 24 hr. Walmart looking for buckets to keep dry goods. Got 2 5 gal. food grade buckets, and unintended buys of lamp oil and some first aid supplies.

 8)

I keep kero for outside use and shop use. Lamp oil for the house.
Have two 2 quart containers of lamp oil and would like more, maybe a gallon more.
It's about twice the price of kero

Should get them today or tomorrow. They are within 15 minutes of me but who knows how long FedEx will take to deliver.

If from Polyfarm (seller) , they have great CS. I've had 2 to crack, one orange ring and one blue lid, which they've replaced. I hear (reviews) gamma lid themselves have poor CS.

Going to visit an old orchard owner this weekend, who will teach me and my BIL some fruit tree care. On my way back, I might be able to pick up some 7,62x25 ammo, if the seller finally has it in stock by then.
Added some more canned beans to our food supplies.

LMFAO — Thanks to the Kung Flu, I logged back into this account after a several-year hiatus.

My preps have come a long way since the last time I logged in. This week's stress test has been no big deal so far. I moved out of a large city 3 years ago and work remotely 90% of the time. That was by far the best thing I ever did to get ready for the sheep stampede at the grocery stores.

I have my core items covered (mostly)...I have been going thru a lot of my older preps tossing out some, feeding the birds with things that were not packed right for long term storage.   Mostly items in 1/2 gal pails which would work fine for 1 year storage. But without mylar bags and o2 absorbers it was time to empty them out, restock with fresh items.

I did picked up a few bags of potting soil for this years indoor herb garden.  Last year herbs did fantastic, I had upgrade the planting pots that helped prevent me from over watering.

I did order a few things for one of my hobbies...drone flying.  In a pinch the hardware can be used for real time camera setup to see without being seen (directly).  The hardware parts are dang cheap, a small camera and transmitter could be setup for not that much money.   The bad part is, all the equipment is made in china, so getting the hardware and the best price will take quite a bit of time.

There is better hardware out there for full time video use.  Simple IP (internet protocol) style camera prices have dropped over the years.  Easy to setup, and you can restrict the hardware to it's own network so data remains local.  I picked up one camera so I can watch the mail box/trash collection while I am in my basement working.

I suspect this forum will experience an uptick in activity. Certainly makes it more interesting.

So, we've pruned and shaped our fruit trees, hopefully they'll survive.

unless you cut the shoot that has a end bud, that will give a new shoot you will be fine.....
Mistakes can be corrected with more prunning next year ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
BTW make a point into prunning the "wild" young branches that will shoot towards the inside of the folliage mass. In early summer.

Received the last of my Augason order from Walmart. It came direct from Utah.

I would like to have 3 more cans of dried carrots, but going to wait it out on ordering.

Well we did what we could, now we can only wait to see.
I also felled two garbage trees that shaded some of these new ones a lot, cut them up and piled to dry for firewood.

Does anyone know a good source for standard Jerry Cans that can be mounted on jerry can mounts for a jeep?

I have enough 5 gallon gas cans to keep in the garage but I've never really bothered to think about carrying gas on the Jeep. Seems like the cheapest I can find them for are $50 each (granted they are steel and seem like high quality). Didn't realize I am going to be shelling out a grand so I can carry 20 gallons on the jeep.

Walmart had them, may be china made though.
And last time I was cruising cans on Amazon, they had them.

I would imagine the 4x4 stores stock them.

Real NATO cans can be hard to find local.  I have picked up a few online that has the fine print - not for use for GAS; however, they are built the same as the ones that are used for gas overseas.

From what I remember; average price for new - not china made - was about 75 dollars.  The true NATO versions have better wielding on the seams, and better coating on the inside.

I have seen some of the NATO style cans on Amazon for less.

Moved some money around so I can stockpile a little more cash at home. We've also been shopping and (as usual) are grabbing a little more than we need to make sure our pantry stays stocked.

I tightened my perimeter with three strands of barb wire in some unsecured areas and locked all of my entry ways on my property. I have 10 acres of land on the outside of Phoenix. Is anybody worried about scavengers or thieves in these times? I have seen a few car drive by my house and gaze at my property.

Yes. We live in the boonies, and are keeping more of an eye out now.
We have some distant neighbors that we avoid, as we think they would start stealing as soon as their food runs out.
Most of our neighbors we trust, but not these 2 households.

Ya, I know. I am in a weird area. The police force is overburden and next time I run into local government leaders I will ask about a neighborhood watch program or making our area “local traffic only”.

Fixed a totally junk antique S/S shotgun to the point where it does mechanically work. With blackpowder ammo it should be safe. I wouldn't stress it to regular use, but it's a good enough piece for our backup weapon stash.

the past few days I have acquainted me better with my baofengs (5R, 3R, T1, 82III ).
I rewrote their programming files and silenced most of them. Found out that you can use the programming software to silence the alarm button.
i also found out you can reprogram them to cover the whole 136-520 regions. To listen AND transmit.(there are filtering issues though).
Will be build some antennas for the 220MHZ, and tested some for compatibility...

strengthened family ties by organizing a "cousins" craft with my mom, her two sisters, and their grandchildren.  Only one grandma was with the grandkids.  Three states, five zoom participants, and an hour playing with oven-bake clay to make "10-virgin lamps" for the Easter season.  We are doing it again next week too.  We have 3 more weeks planned, and we are taking turns organizing it.  yeah, all these kids are second cousins, but that almost makes it better (and some do not have first cousins to bond with).
