Carver, would it be that you could use those ac's in your shop?

I picked up a 20.00 garage sale one a few years ago and put it in my storeroom. I can leave the door cracked open and it will cool my shop also, as long as I leave it closed up.
I have, and am, considering doing that. My shop is 18x28 and very well insulated. In hot weather it will stay cool with the doors shut but humidity does a lot of rust damage.

It's a 10" bandsaw, not 12".

Looks like we were too hasty with the corn that we started in pots in house. We moved it to the field about two weeks ago and it was likely too cold yet, it's almost all dead. We planted some new seeds directly to the ground couple days ago, hope they make it.
Finally received my bulat steel knife from Russia. Very nicely made and really very lightweight. I've carried much more massive knives for so long and I feel it's time to swith to light ones for everyday carry. Not like I couldn't carry them, but this is much more comfortable and one tends to actually still carry a light one (while I tended to leave the heavy fixed knives at home and only carry folders, unless I went to the woods and such). The only bad thing was the sheath the maker provided, that was quite crappy. But it fits the sheath from the old VO-7 (Czechoslovakian paratroopers knife from the 50-60's) perfectly, so I'll likely use that one and won't bother making a new sheath.
We're a step closer to replace the old heat source for our house with a new one. Will still be a wood-burning furnace, but should be much more efficient and save fuel.

Tilled and got another 35' row of peppers in.

Had 2 rows of white taters that didn't come up well. #1 was put in late. #2 stayed to wet and most rotted. So I dug up one row and combined into the other row, not quite making a 25' row. I'll finish that row out with peppers.

Never transplanted taters before........we'll see.

Yes. Get under the roots and you should be ok.

Added mystery peppers to a row of taters to finish the row out.
Replanted some Blue Lake beans, and put onion bulbs a couple of inches away from that row. (Excess bulbs  ::))

Added more lime and sand to an area that gets corn planted.

Tilled and planted two 35' rows of Golden Bantam corn. Included some sunflower seeds in there. Should be interesting.  ;D
Tilled and planted one row of Bloody Butcher corn.

Transplanted some maters and peppers into bigger pots. Hopefully I can get those in the ground in about a week.

Ran across some LT lentils at Walmart again. Snagged 2 cans that will fill my quota on lentils.

Snagged more carpet for the pathways. (Weeds  ;D)

May get some more turnips in if it cools off a bit.

Calling for a t-storm later on

Our transplanted medicinal herbs seem to do well (agrimony, several kinds of mint, lemon balm etc.).
The transplanted raspberries also look very well (some may even bear fruit this season).
The new seeds of white corn have sprouted, wish them luck.
Some progress on the armory. Progress on the bedroom rebuild as well (lots of woodworking experience).

2 more 25' rows of turnips yesterday. Should have put in the last one, making it 3 for the day.
Tired of it, and quit.
Then the rain hit early early morning, hard. 1-3/4 in about an hour. Didn't break anything off that I could see and get to, but sure pushed a lot of the plants over.
Propped up what I could get to.

So I have one more row of turnips, a row of maters and a few more peppers to put in as soon as they get bigger, then the garden will be full.
I may have to spot plant a few things here and there. Okra, beets, turnips.

Yesterday I vacuum packed 11 lbs. of oil cured ripe olives that I brought recently. Got 15 pint jars and about 1 1/2 pint left unpacked for current kitchen use.

Got those 75#'s of pinto's all secured in three 3-1/2g buckets.

25# fills a 3-1/2g bucket real nice.

Finally finished my armory room. The first and only completely finished room in our new home after year and a half.
Corn and potatoes are growing nicely, as it rains here daily for the last week or so.

Weed and mulch.
Got more cardboard put down by the onions after weeding them. Still have more to go.  ::)
Lightly tilled and replanted two 35' rows of turnips.
Replanted 3 hills of cantaloupe. Had 3 seeds escape the row somehow  ??? , so I transplanted into hills that hasn't came up.
Tilled next to another row of cantaloupe so I can lay cardboard down under the plants, giving the vines a place to lay besides in weeds.

We're having a bunch of storms today, so the power is down as usual. Found out that I can actually use my power bank to power the modem (which allowed me to post this). Good to know it works.
Doing some progress on the house, another step closer to have new heating source, ehich will hopefully save us some firewood.

THIS is what i am preaching about.without the modem one does not have a phone either.
And it does not thought of, until i pointed them that they will have internet access regardless.

My wife stopped in my newly reorganized shop and I waited for her to notice how it looked entirely different; rearranged and the clutter cleaned up.

Two 4,5l jars of plantain leaves with sugar packed and burried in the ground...in about 3 months, they will be dug out and strained for medicinal syrup.
Lots of elder blossoms dehydrated.
Minor improvements on the armory.
Some garden work, our potatoes are doing well.

Forged a nice socketed spearhead, to add something to our polearm armory. All the jokes about bringing spear to a gunfight aside, spear is one of the most efficient weapons ever created. It's been overshadowed by sword in our perception of military history, but spear has been the primary weapon for thousands of years, with sword being mostly the secondary, backup one. I've been forging some for my fellow reenactors and realized I didn't have a proper sharp spear in this new house, so I fixed that. Need to sharpen and shaft it.

Small project to keep my skills honed; a little end table using no glue, just pocket holes.
