Thank you.

I’m actually looking to connect with like minded people in my area. But I don’t use any social media.

I was hoping to find a way to connect with other MSB members.  I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m the only one in the flint area.

Maybe I could start a dystopian tour company.  You fly into Bishop airport and if you survive 2 days in flint; I drive you to Detroit.  10% MSB discount.

Hey, guys...  Figured we could use an intro thread.  Let's use this to introduce yourself if you're new and welcome those coming in.  =-]

I'm not new...but am making a concerted effort to get more involved here.

Facebook and other social media are easy distractions.

This is where we find our people.

Here's to getting back involved with the TSP community.

Look forward to getting a bit more involved.

For now, time to wind it down for the night.

Evening, all.

I'm Nancy, I live just a bit north of Mobile, AL, but I grew up in Ohio, hence the handle Southern Fried Yanqui. I work as a contractor to the Navy doing System Administration and Cyber Compliance. After my last kid graduated high school and decided college wasn't his thing right now, I decided it was time for me to finish. I got an education waiver for my last promotion, but I won't get one for the next promotion, and I'm studying CyberSecurity. It doesn't matter that I"ll be 60 when I finish, I can work as long as I want to, and after I've got a few years under my belt, I'll be in a position to set more of my own working conditions.
I enjoy the prep stuff, and most of the garden stuff, but I'm married to a traditional gardener who likes doign things the way his daddy did them. We built our home on old family land, on a road that bears his grandfather's name. Glad to be part of a wonderful, respectful community.

What happened to the new guy who was selling generators? I wasn't going to buy one but I thought I could help them improve their English.

I am definitely not new here but a lot has changed in my life since I last visited.

After 24 years of marriage, I am recently divorced (4 months now)
My two adult daughters live with me 19 & 23
I have reenetered the work force after 10 years as a home maker
My husband was our leader and protector and I have picked up that mantle for myself and my daughters
My oldest is 11 weeks pregnant with twins

I got most of our preps in the divorce as he just up and walked away so there is that plus.

So hi cupcakes, I have a lot of reading to catch up on.

Hey everyone. Figured I'd finally introduce myself since it seems the forums are a little more lively than the last time I'd lurked. Anyone know why? Lol
I'm "Jamin", a mid 20s country boy from the midwest, so the line between "prepping" and "living in the country" is a little more blurred, but I've really only been actively prepping for the last few years off and on. Found TSP early on in my journey, and the motto and just general life advice hit home. Been listening ever since. Finally broke down and got MSB last year just to listen to the old episodes. Figured I'd poke around here a bit while under semi-quarantine.

Welcome to the group, some of Jack's older episodes are some of the best (to me).   I use to do the pod cast stuff alot a few years back, but stopped when I changed jobs.

I loved the Duck chronicles on youtube that Jack kicked out.

Hey everybody, just / finally signed up. Been a TSP listener for a long time and a 'sort of' prepper since the Northridge Earthquake destroyed my house and caught me with no prepared resources and empty gas tanks. It was a hard lesson, but I learned it fast. And when the covid-19 shopping panic hit the wife and I just sat at home on 4mos+ worth of foodstuffs and 60+ rolls of TP and patted ourselves on the back. And I figured I'd better pay a little something to Jack for all the great info and expertise he's brought together. So just did, minutes ago.
