Title: NPR: "How would the US fare in an 8.9 quake"

Today NPR asked “How ready is the US for an 8.9 quake” and got the answer “Well, it depends on where it happens.”

Some areas are better ready than others. But a lot of people don’t have quake insurance, stored food, live in homes not quake resistant, or plans.

Of course they did not go into what to do or how to prepare. So here are some good places to get info to hand out to non-prepared friends from sources they can “trust”.

And don’t forget to point them to the Red Cross’s web page on preparing.
