For myself and Mrs. Zero, the Christmas between our families was sparse on purpose. I received a fairly comprehensive gun cleaning kit that covers all the major calibers, but the rest was mainly small items and hand made gifts as it should be.

The major gift came from our neighbor that gave us two Aladdin Genie III lamps for Christmas with the wall mounting brackets and everything. When I learned of that gift you literally could have knocked me over with a feather..

The lamps are not "new", but any complete Aladdin is worth its weight in silver (gold is too expensive ;) )

I was pretty pleased this year.
Battery Charger
Small Dehydrator
Coleman Propane lantern
couple of 3LED flashlights from Harbor Freight
2 12V air compressors (one for each car)
Day Hiker backpack
I got my wife a Kitchen Aid mixer, the grain mill attachment will have to wait a while.  I gave my bread machine to my mother a few months ago and plan to use the Kitchen Aid to start baking bread again.  Kneading by hand is a bit of a pain.  The plan is to use store bought flour for now and later start using home milled.  Now that I think about it I probably got the Kitchen Aid more for myself than her.  She loves that it's pink though.

Christmas sounds like it was wonderful for everyone!!  I am glad to hear it.  Christmas at the Darkwinter household was very nice.

I got a pair of hiking boots. Along with several pairs of wool hiking socks.  It has been bitter cold here in NE Ohio and we have had a few snowy days since Christmas so they have kept my feet cozy and warm while I shoveled and built snowmen with my children.

I too, got a new copy of Atlas Shrugged.  I look forward to curling up in a blanket in front of the fireplace, waiting out winter with this book!!

For my children and my nieces and nephews I bought each of them a Christmas Silver round and had thier names engraved on the back.  It was NOT the perfect gift for the kids, but I figure they will enjoy them later in life.

Christmas was a wonderful time to relax from a very stressful year at work with friends and family!!!

We bought the Wii Fit Plus for each other so we can work off these pounds we gained having a baby (I gained 40lbs in last year due to quitting smoking/sympathy weight, she has pretty much lost all her "baby" fat and is just toniing up).

Also recieved from my lovely wife for Christmas
- Stainless scope for my Stainless 10/22.
- Was given 500rds .22LR from a friend.
- 5/11 Covert Khakis (I don't really like the hidden zippered magazine pockets).  Other than that I like them.
- Shooters Bible, 101st Edition

I think I did OK this year,

Season One of Jericho on DVD
Gabe Suarez's "Mindset" DVD
An assortment of heirloom seeds
A couple of boxes of 9MM HP
set of Mechanix Wear gloves
a good soft shell vest

but the best gift was the chance to spend time with my FIL who is very old school, born and raised in the tail end of the depression/WWII. I learn valuable lessons from him everytime I am around him.

The only preparedness item I got for Christmas was a Garmin eTrex Legend H GPS.  :D I love this thing! I feel about this GPS like some people feel about their iPhones. I wrote a review on the Gear section here on the forum a few days after getting to play around with it.  ;D

I got hooked up big time this year!  We also used the Amazon wish list and it makes everything so easy.

-I got a black carbine synthetic stock 10/22 from my wife ( I gave her a GPS, and a pearl necklace with earrings which isn’t prepping, but sure made her happy)

-The All New Square Foot Gardening Book
http://www.amazon.com/All-New-Square-Foot-Gardening/dp/1591862027/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262716167&sr=8-1-catcorr
- Presto 23-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner

http://www.amazon.com/Presto-23-Quart-Aluminum-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B0000BYCFU
- Presto 7 Function Canning Kit

http://www.amazon.com/Presto-7-Function-Canning-Kit/dp/B001V9K8A6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1262716200&sr=8-1-catcorr
- new goretex/timberland hiking boots
- new binoculars for hunting
- a bunch of new clothes
- a utility knife
- 2 packs of Aqua Cone Aqua Spike - Green - Set of 6 Automatic Plant Watering System
http://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Cone-Spike-Automatic-Watering/dp/B001ESSJOQ
- a Ceramic Compost Keeper so I don’t have to walk outside to the bin after every meal. Just a small holder with an air filter basically.

I just saw this thread, so I am somewhat belated. My folks read 'One Second After' and have been thinking preparedness, so we exchanged some preparedness related gifts this year.

I mentioned that I would like to have a .22 rifle and a shotgun. My folks bought me a Ruger 10/22 Carbine. And he mentioned it to my uncle, who gave me a 12 gauge shotgun that belonged to my Grandfather. For the life of me I can't figure out who made it, but it is nice to have one of my grandfather's guns.

My folks also gave us a cast iron 5qt Dutch Oven and a 2qt serving pot.

I gave everyone a little first aid kit, and a Silver Eagle. I ordered some canned non-hybrid gardening seeds for my Mom, which haven't arrived yet, and a Machete Jr. for my Dad.

So, all in all we had a nice Christmas.

Glad to hear you are warm in NE Ohio! And, I hope that you are planning to read Atlas Shrugged into Spring, otherwise the groundhog might see his shadow 7 times or something! Ok just kidding, enjoy the book! I did (for a year). And glad to hear about the gifts for your children and nieces and nephews. I am considering that for next year, once I ditch this debt...never thought about engraving their names, I like it!!! Happy New Year!

What's the shelf life on Lipton and those type of soups?  Wondering if I should stock up??  We don't eat much soup here in sunny Florida (except days like these when it's 27F deg.) but it's an idea as they are easy to store and foil wrapped so they should stay for sometime.  Thanks.

I bought these for us and for Christmas gifts. Plug your cell phone car charger into adapter and crank. Cranking for a few minutes sure beats no cell phone at all in an emergency.

Crank flashlight w/cell phone charger.

Just opened the 21 quart All American pressure canner!!!! Mom thought I was joking when I first told her that was what I wanted.  (it is a Xmas/Bday combination)  These things aren't cheap, but hey, I will pass it on to my kids... and they will do the same :)

I asked for a vac sealer for my B-day (in a few weeks) and my wife was shocked and asked if I was joking...
