Antenna Recomendations?
« on: February 25, 2010, 08:33:38 AM »
Greetings...I'm considering buying a Yaesu FT-7900R for use in my Honda Civic, and I was wondering what dual-band mobile antenna setups you guys would recommend? What brand, model, etc.

Also, what mounting system would be preferred...mag or trunk-lip mount?

Thx

From the research I have done, particularly on eham.net, I am going to choose the larsen nmo2/70b.  I have never used this antenna, but it gets great reviews.

I bought the same radio, took a little while for me to figure it out, get the programing software makes programming a lot easier,
as for the antenna I went with a Larson, Model number is NMO-2/70 Black, with the Permanent mounting kit. Drill a hole in the middle of my Nissan Frontier's roof  :o But it works great  ;D and it was the cheapest out of the all from HRO in NH!
