time to get my geek on!

It is slightly confusing that based on battery chemistry there are either 5 or 6 cells used.  I understand the reason, but some folks may be confused - so I am glad the "battery unit" is included.

I also wonder if adding in the cost of the BL5 really makes sense to divide out to the PPM value.
In the case of NI-MH rechargeables we assume a suitable charger already exists.

For my needs, I looked at test #1 and #4, since I own both types of AA batteries.

To me I read:  Test #1 $7.49 for 91.4 hours (one time) vs.  Test #4 $17.21 for 60.9 hours (first time, with each subsequent recharge cycle dividing that cost by N).

Obviously rechargeable batteries don't have infinite cycles, but it's much more than one.

2/3 thirds the time for rechargeable batters compared to alkaline batteries. Things have come a long ways from NI Cads.
