Seat belt question
« on: September 22, 2020, 11:50:37 AM »
Been meaning to ask this for ages- Are seat belts dangerous?
I've never owned or needed a car so I know zilch about them, but my niece picked me up in her car a few years ago and I put the seat belt on wrong (I put my arm and head through the 'loop' if you see what I mean) and it automatically tightened up across my chest and I could hardly breathe.
Luckily we were almost at our destination so I was able to get out, but I can't help wondering if the belt would have automatically tightened up tighter like a deadly boa-constrictor if I'd stayed in?
