An *excellent* resource on how to grow things!
« on: June 28, 2009, 02:06:15 PM »
I'm investigating the possibility of growing fruits and vegetables for profit. If I'll be homesteading, I might as well grow extra to pay for things like taxes and perhaps a vacation every winter. Anyway, while researching the economics of doing so, I stumbled upon a great resource on the University of Missouri's website: http://extension.missouri.edu/main/DisplayCategory.aspx?C=2

It tells you the basics of growing many things, and the basics on how to market them. Be warned; you could spend hours reading :D

YOUR state "Master Gardener" program

As far as I can tell, every state has a "master gardener" program specific to the state.

The cost of the class is not bad, and it may be a source of income if "normal" jobs collapse.
