Cut and stacked firewood although I feel like its cheating since I have to do it anyway so we have heat. Already have had to have some fires cause its been chilly up in the woods. I'm afraid it is going to be a cold winter.

First and most important, I went to work. After work i shot a round of clays and had four flood plots started at one of my Bug out locations ie. the preserve. The Club, my other location will be planted next week.  I need meat for the freezer and the wild pigs are calling the AR.  Also Picked up a small Sony AM/FM radio off of amazon with CC points.

I stored another 8 gallons of water and purchased new 25 lb bags of flour, bread flour, and sugar. And bought some oatmeal packages to test out at home, see if the kids like them. Checking out a pawn shop for silver coins tomorrow.

Participated in a practical pistol course at a local range.  Shot at man sized targets (head, center mass and pelvis shots) from 5, 10 and 15 yards.  Followed up with drills from behind cover at two variable distance targets.  Each target had a hostage and a 'bad guy' image on it.  An added bonus was the rainy weather.  If it ain't rainin, I ain't trainin!

Hauled in 2010's firewood. Not a big deal really. I try to stay a couple of years ahead. Next year I'll split it.

Placed an order for chickens. We are getting started keeping chickens. We got a coop, we will get a place fenced off and a roof on it before the chickens arrive. I am looking forward to having fresh eggs. And better quality meat.

Yesterday, I stopped into a CARMA meeting - Chicago Area Radio Monitoring Association. Took a way home that I have never driven - just to learn the roads.

Today, I dropped off a kitten in an area I haven't been to before.

I tell you, it's work learning a new area.

I wandered around Gander Mountain for 2 hours looking at everything, getting a feel for the prices. This way I know if something is a good deal or not when I see it on sale or clearance or at a yard sale. Quite proud of myself, only spent $10 on .22cal Air Rifle Pellets.

Got paperwork for a 401k from a former job in the mail. Looked over that. I was on the fence about what to do with it all year. It's been steadily imploding all year, and I have been hmming and hawing about what to do with it. In light of last week's events, and the fact that it showed up at my door unbidden. I will take it for an omen and cash it out and pay off 2 small items of debt and use what's left to get a fishing boat.

You ever try fishing? A cheap pastime if you want it to be, and it has the added benefit of providing food too! I am picking up a boat, motor, and trailer for a song. With everybody dumping their boats, now is a good time to pick one up used. Like Jack said on one of his shows, on a downturn, if you have a little bit of discretionary money, you can easily be 'rich'. I live a mile from a river that has fish in it that are still edible.

Friday, I picked up a few more silver dimes from a differet coin shop.  My usual shop told me they wouldn't sell me any more because the price of silver was too unstable.  Sounded bogus to me.  But then, it wasn't the guy I normally deal with behind the counter.  So, I found a different shop.  They had absoletly no problems selling me junk silver dimes.

Yesterday, attended an all-day tactical carbine course.  Learned a lot of really great stuff.  And...some not so great stuff.  Like, exactly how out of shape I am and what a P.O.S. my AK is.  Going to have to fix both of those things.

I bought a Mossberg 385KA 20 gauge shotgun and some shells for practice. I am trying to learn how to hunt, clean, and preserve food. (any help in that regard would be appreciated)

Edit - Corrected an incorrect Model Number.

Looked into getting a new Bug Out Bag, my current one is starting to show some serious wear.
Getting ready to put my camper shell on my truck, wire it inside for some lights, and put some storage units in the back. Never know when you might need to sleep in the back.
Heck, even in a Non-SHTF situation, like camping or tailgating, a camper shell comes in handy.

He He... I did the same thing. I couldn't watch the debate though, it would have just made me mad. Read some about it on some forums.

Topped off on some canned goods and odds and ends.

Helped out my neighbor. She was getting her kid off the bus, slipped in the wet grass and fell. She opened up her shin and knee with a giant laceration/avulsion about 6"x 3" all the way to the bone. Got her off to the ER and surgery. Good practice I guess, she'll be ok.

I shouldn't have bothered...it was the complete waste of time I was certain it would be.  It did give me a chance to top off magazines and get the rest of my "tacticool" gear back together after the carbine class I took this weekend.

Actually I like black, it is tactical and plain at the same time.  Tan I like better or even a dull grey.  Ever notice how a deer blends in so well, ghosts into the trees, they are not cammo though, tan, grey and make use of shadows.

Finally finished putting together my AR15.  Now I don't have to borrow my wife's AR anymore. ;D

I'm gonna buy 1000 rounds in the next week or two.

Friday:
- Finally bought first pistol.  Still got to get concealed carry and get to range for practice.
- Bought some junk silver

Monday:
- Bought rain barrel (actually sturdy trash can with wheels)
- Pulled some cash from bank
- Bought a few 5 gal storage tubs and some rice and beans (black beans - yum!)
- Started collecting stuff to update go-bag (2 years out of date and kids' shoes don't fit now)

Tuesday:
- Got set up for online trading for various 401(k), etc. that have been on auto-pilot

Wednesday:
- Verified different money market accounts were FDIC insured.  Not as simple as it looks
- Moved some equity funds into gov't bond funds
- Pulled some more cash from bank

Hmmm....called in sick to work... 8)
Then, took 5 of my AR-15's to the range to make sure they were correctly sighted in.  Put around 100rds downrange in the 4hrs I was there.  Our range only allows 3rds in the mag at one time :-[, but it is public and free.  Plus I wasn't in a hurry cause I was talking to a some good friends while I was there, and watching some guy teach people how (not) to shoot.  (attention in the gene room: please add a bit more chlorine to the pool...thank you).  First shot from the instructor was an negligent discharge into the ground in front of the bench.   ::) Maybe they'll get stopped on the way back from the range :-\

Ordered a Leupold MK4 (LEU60015) for my 600yrd AR.  It'll probably go on the .308 bolt, but I bought it for the AR.  It'll be in Tuesday.

Pulled in my order from Emergency Essentials that FEDEX so graciously tossed in the driveway.  (Guess he didn't like the McCain/Palin sign in the front yard). Inventoried it and put it on the shelves downstairs. Over 100lbs of freeze dried, dehydrated and some MRE P-nut butter, jelly and cheese and 30 packs of crackers ;D ;D ;D (not sure why, but I love that stuff!)

Cleaned out 2 fuel cans, put in the right amount of Stabil and put them in the truck, along with 2 kero cans.  Stop on the way home tomorrow and fill them up. Need to fill up that last drum in the shed before winter.

Updated the mental software again, read a bit of junk mail, watched some porn, baking a pizza while I wait for the wife to come home.
