Portable Fuel Can
« on: September 29, 2009, 01:07:36 PM »
Looking for a decent portable fuel can for gas, something a bit more rugged than typically found at Lowes or Home Depot.  Sadly, the Scepter MFCs no longer seem to be available.  Other than the Geri can, http://www.expeditionone.biz/Geri_intro.htm, are there any other recommendations?  Thanks.

I guess the question would be what are you planning to do with the fuel can.  For just static storage in the garage or shed, the home depot model would do well.  If your going to drop a fuel can off a moving truck or out of a helicopter, perhaps something a little sturdier would be in order.

For $79.00 you can get allot of better options
the old favorite among offroaders was the blitz can  A 5 gallon GI style can that took allot of abuse.  Currently there around $40 or so and they still hold 5 gallons.

For static bulk storage Id suggest a larger storage container with a pump.

For something almost as rugged as the Scepter MFC check out the Scepter Eco Jerry Can.  Amazon sells them for $20 and so does PepBoys.  PepBoys is even a few dollars cheaper.  They are ventless and work great.
